Guest Posted June 7, 2006 Posted June 7, 2006 Okay broke the cardinal rule. Never wrote my admin password down and had it stored in windows so I forgot it. My hard drive crashed and had to reinstall everything. Needless to say. Lost it all. Anyway to recover it. Is it stored in a file or in the database. Is it stored as MD5 or what. I can replace it with an MD5 version of another password if I know where to go. Any help truly appreciated..
abra123cadabra Posted June 7, 2006 Posted June 7, 2006 My admin section is secured by .htaccess and pwd file. In this case you could log into your server and change this. If you installed some osC contrib for an additional admin pw, no idea where that is stored and how you could get rid of/replace it. abra The First Law of E-Commerce: If the user can't find the product, the user can't buy the product. Feedback and suggestions on my shop welcome. Note: My advice is based on my own experience or on something I read in these forums. No guarantee it'll work for you! Make sure that you always BACKUP the database and the files you are going to change so that you can rollback to a working version if things go wrong.
