Placing files in correct place

My web server does not have these paths:

/home/hpdl/public_html/

/srv/www/htdocs/

/usr/local/htdocs/

shown in the install guide.

I want the store front to show up as www.my_domain.com.

on the server the top level has these folders:

logs

mail

sys

temp

www.

under www is our domain where we put all of our html pages. (index etc...) is this where I put the files from the catalog file?

I'm new to PHP but learning fast!

Correct. If you want your osc catalog to be found at www.yoursite.com you can put the contents of the "catalog" folder in your www directory....but not the catalog folder itself (just the contents).
