The e-commerce.

forbidden! no such file

Recommended Posts

My client bought a store template from TemplateMonster. I uploaded using Dreamweaver, but after changing the perimissions, I got 403 Forbidden and 404 File Not Found errors when I tried getting the installer. all of the files are there, and I'd set permissions to 777.

The hosting company, Media temple, suggested that I switch to PHP Power Mode, so I did.

So, I deleted the existing /shop/ folder, and created a new one. Then I uploaded using Transmit.

Afterward, I used Transmit to set chmod at 755. (In Power mode, 755 replaces 777). I set the privileges on ALL of the appropriate directories and files. I get a 404 File Not Found error when I try to get the install.php file, or any of the other config or configuratiion files.

My server is properly set up. This is what's on it:

Apache: 2.0.46

PHP: 4.3.10

GD: 2.0.28 with freetype support

Perl: 5.8.0

Python: 2.2.3

MySQL: 3.23.58

Squirrelmail: 1.4.4

The tech supporters at MT and TM are all unable to come up with an answer. Any suggestions?
