weight and prices in catalog

Recommended Posts

I have two problems that seem similar to me:

1. OSC seems to be automatically rounding my prices to the nearest whole number. (when I enter a price of $9.25 it displays it as $9.)

2. When I enter the weight of an item as '100 grams' it displays it as 100.00.

I've spent a lot of time trying to figure out where these setting are - but I can't figure out why or where it is doing this.

Any help would be appreciated!

not sure if this will fix it but in the admin section under Configuration, there is a section called "my store" and there is an option about Tax decimal places. If you switch that to 2, I think that your prices won't be rounded.

I'm not sure if you can fix the two decimal places for the weight, though.

In admin side of store,

admin->localization->currencies if you click on edit for your currency, do have 2 in the decimal places box?

On another thread,

one member solved the rounding problem by replacing

".number_format($listing['products_price'],0)"

with

".number_format($listing['products_price'],2)"

in /catalog/includes/modules/product_listing.php

Give that a try and see what happens.

I did have '2' in the decimal place box - but as soon as I changed it to a '.' it worked.

Now, I just need to figure out the weight problem.

THanks!

If you download the OSCommerce documentation, there's a chapter called "weight as a whole number".

http://www.oscommerce.com/solutions/downloads

You can change the number of decimal places accepted in weight in your SQL file. look for product weight and change from 0.000 to what ever you need I changed mine to 0.000000 as I do snaps that weigh 1/10 of an ounce.
