index.php woes

I am new to this and have a problem.

I edited out all the unnecessary text on the index page by going to: includes/languages/english/index.php.

I left the line: define(TEXT_MAIN', "); like this as the instructions said and got parse line 18 error message. I tried putting text inside the two 's and got a line 19 error message.

Is there something else I need to change?

Would appreciate the help.

Thanks

Only way to know for sure is for you to post your page here.

Usually a parse error happens on the language files when you have a word like we're. It must be we\'re so I would look for that.

If you are using the file manager that comes with osCommerce this happens very often. Even you are sure it is right when you save the file it saves it incorectly and messes up the code. To edit files, download them to your hard drive, edit then reupload.
