SSL for checkout only

How can I configure ssl for use only in the checkout and account info screens? I do not see any purpose in securing my entire ecommerce site. It slows down browsing and limits the use of external links.

By default, If your ssl was properly installed, that is how osCommerce works (secure only where personnal info is required)

define('HTTP_SERVER', 'your site.com'); // eg, http://localhost - should not be empty for productive servers
define('HTTPS_SERVER', 'your ssl certificate.com'); // eg, https://localhost - should not be empty for productive servers
define('ENABLE_SSL', true); // secure webserver for checkout procedure?

  • 1 month later...

Both of your configure.php files, but don't forget that you can't just enable ssl you also have to have the use of a shared ssl form your host or have purchased a full ssl of your own.
