You need to edit you configure.php files and change the database info to match your new server and database info.

The Knowledge Base is a wonderful thing.

Do you have a problem? Have you checked out Common Problems?

There are many very useful osC Contributions

Are you having trouble with a installed contribution? Have you checked out the support thread found Here

BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP!!! You did backup, right??

Perhaps try 'localhost' for the MySQL server in includes/configure.php?

thanks I will give that a try.

You need to edit you configure.php files and change the database info to match your new server and database info. The erroers were there before on the old server, they moved the site to a new server to see if it would cure the error. I just read it could also be overloaded servers causing it?

Also ssl no longer works, checkout_shipping wont load any ideas?

I have not seen that particular error caused by an overloaded database server. The only things I have seen to cause it are either the database info in the configure.php file is incorrect or the database user not being assigned to the database.

If you are getting a database error how are you getting an error with your checkout shipping page?

Have you installed an ssl cert at the new location or was it not working at the old one?

I've had this same problem for the past few days. I cured it by putting in the IP Address of the database instead of localhost. Not sure why but it works fine now.

It had also been working fine for about 18 months by using the localhost. I reckon my hosts changed something but they won't admit it.
