Creating new Account problem

Every time I try to create a new account I get the following error:

 

Please select a state from the States pull down menu.

 

Then I have to select a state that is different than Nebraska for it to work.

Best fix is to install the state dropdown contribution so you get the dropdown on the initial create account page.

 

The problem is tha osC will not see as valid anything except the full state name spelled exactly so if the customer makes an error then you get the error.
