jacenstuff Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 I am new to OSC, I'll admit that right off. I know that a majority of images are in catalog/images/. I have several categories of stuff, and would like to give each category it's own folder such as this: ./catalog/images/cat1/ ./catalog/images/cat2 ./catalog/images/cat3 also their thumbnails located within those directories [ex. './catalog/images/cat1/thumbs/'] So, yes, I ssh'd into my shared server and made these directories, I go into my admin page and add products and tell OSC to find these images and upload the image from these dir's. however, when I do so, OSC tries to copy the image to 'catalog/images/' and I wind up with a broken image. now i'm temporarily just storing all the images in the default folder, but it's now starting to become cumbersome, and sifting through when i will to remove or add product will become more difficult. What is the work around for this? Also, I'm trying to control the images displayed in a category section, it stretches the photos out, which is why i want to try and use thumbnails. But when I adjust image properties in the admin panel, it effects ALL images pretty much throughout the store. So what are the rules for customizing images? One last thing. Any ideas on how to add multiple images to a product, so a customer could say, select a blue racecar instead of the red one displayed by default and see what it looks like right away. I guess this would be like a dynamic feature...but i sifted through contribs and bug support and everywhere else i could find that appeals to OSC and came up with nothing. maybe i'm using the wrong search terms? Thanks SOOOOOO much in advance to anyone that can provide any of these answers. We must be the change we wish to see in the world. ------------------------------------------------------------ p.s. BACKUP!

Guess I'll just give this a go and pray for the best :). I appreciate the speedy reply man. Thanks. Oh and I found the answer to the 2nd question...still tryign to figure out the directory problem though. thanks. OH for anyone wondering what the answer was because they had the same question, I figured out i was questioning the size of "sub-cat images" which is a default option to toy with in the admin panel. Thanks. We must be the change we wish to see in the world. ------------------------------------------------------------ p.s. BACKUP!
