can i test my site without any hosting?

Hi,

 

I purchased an OSCommerce template and I would like to test the installation of the site on my computer first, without actually uploading the site to my webspace and doing it on there as I haven't purchased a site or host space yet. Is this possible to do?

No need to test it online. Turn your computer into an offline (Intranet) testing server. Download an all-in-one package like XAMPP (http://www.apachefriends.org/en), it's literally a 1-click install and has all you need - PHP, PHP MyAdmin, MySQL, Apache Web Server etc.

 

Once you've done that load the osCommerce 'catalog' folder into the htdocs folder, create a blank database by going to http://localhost/phpmyadmin, and then go to http://locahost/catalog and begin the install procedure.
