Hi there!

I've tried to find an answer to my problem with the search and google without any luck. Here's my problem: I had a working oscommerce shop with a certain template, but then I tried to install a new one from template monster. The files didn't just overwrite the old ones, end therefore I had to install the oscommerce again.

I installed according to instrucions, but somehow the boxes don't work. The installation didn't write the configuration.php properly and I had to fill it by hand.

At the moment the shop looks like this:

http://www.saunalahti.fi/jpraitio/sekal/etusivu.jpg

And it should look like this:

http://osc.template-help.com/9083/index.php

Please notice the warnings on red on top, especially the backslashes...

Here is my cofiguration.php file:

define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://localhost'); // eg, http://localhost - should not be empty for productive servers
 define('HTTPS_SERVER', 'https://localhost'); // eg, https://localhost - should not be empty for productive servers
 define('ENABLE_SSL', false); // secure webserver for checkout procedure?
 define('HTTP_COOKIE_DOMAIN', 'localhost');
 define('HTTPS_COOKIE_DOMAIN', 'localhost');
 define('HTTP_COOKIE_PATH', '');
 define('HTTPS_COOKIE_PATH', '');
 define('DIR_WS_HTTP_CATALOG', '/osc/');
 define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_CATALOG', '/osc/');
 define('DIR_WS_IMAGES', 'images/');
 define('DIR_WS_ICONS', DIR_WS_IMAGES . 'icons/');
 define('DIR_WS_INCLUDES', 'includes/');
 define('DIR_WS_BOXES', DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'boxes/');
 define('DIR_WS_FUNCTIONS', DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'functions/');
 define('DIR_WS_CLASSES', DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'classes/');
 define('DIR_WS_MODULES', DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'modules/');
 define('DIR_WS_LANGUAGES', DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'languages/');

 define('DIR_WS_DOWNLOAD_PUBLIC', 'pub/');
 define('DIR_FS_CATALOG', dirname($HTTP_SERVER_VARS['SCRIPT_FILENAME']));
 define('DIR_FS_DOWNLOAD', DIR_FS_CATALOG . 'download/');
 define('DIR_FS_DOWNLOAD_PUBLIC', DIR_FS_CATALOG . 'pub/');

// define our database connection
 define('DB_SERVER', 'localhost'); // eg, localhost - should not be empty for productive servers
 define('DB_SERVER_USERNAME', 'root');
 define('DB_SERVER_PASSWORD', 'admin');
 define('DB_DATABASE', 'osCommerce3');
 define('USE_PCONNECT', 'false'); // use persistent connections?
 define('STORE_SESSIONS', 'mysql'); // leave empty '' for default handler or set to 'mysql'

Any idea why my boxes arent working?

The new template is most likely using PHP short open tags.

Edit your php.ini file and set the short_open_tag to On and see if that doesn't help.

The only other thing that I can think of is that some of the new filenames instead of ending with .php end with something else.

Can you request that page in your browser, view the source code, and send it to me to look at?

Yes now this works. Thanks a lot.

I have a new problem though: I can make new accounts, but cannot login to them or add products to my shopping cart. When I try to login to my account the browser throws me in the index page (and not logged in). When I try to add products to cart the browser only says "the basket is empty"

- All new accounts are created in the database and can be viewed through admin panel

- The "force cookie use" is true

- If I set define('ENABLE_SSL', false); to true, I'll get page cannot be displayed from account.php

Help, please
