Orders are emailed, but don't show up in Orders section in admin

First off let me admit that I don't use oscommerce much. I run the server, but my friend runs the site and he actually deals with all the orders.

 

He hasn't recieved any orders for a week, which is unusual. I'm looking into the problem and it seems he's not getting his emails (OSC related or otherwise). However, shouldn't any orders made also show up in the Orders section of admin in addition to being emailed?

 

When I look back at the Orders section only lists about a dozen orders, even though I know he gets way more than that.

 

When orders are completed do they get removed from the admin section? Is there a place where I can see a comlete history of orders?
