PHP Question-Paths and URL's?

Could someone kindly clarify this for me (and for my server person, who has been trying to fix index.php issue going on with my site)

 

Are absolute paths and url names stored only in the configure.php files or are they

also stored in the database?

Your website's absolute paths (and relative paths) are stored in the two configure.php files.

Thanks very much. We figured out the problem.

 

In the admin configuration, the setting "Use

Search Engine Safe URLs" was changed from true to false.

 

That did the trick.
