aaarrgghhh! Same errors for every contribution...

Virtually every contribution I try to add, I get this error page:

Parse error: parse error, unexpected $ in /home/httpd/vhosts/custombuildcomputers.net/httpdocs/product_info.php on line 353

When I look at line 353, it is the last line in the code and is blank. I've removed the last line, so that the last line then contains the `?>' with no spaces after it, but I am still getting the same error, but the for line 352 instead!

If I roll back to before the contrib install, everything is fine again.

Please help as this is driving me crazy and is stopping me from doing what I need to.

Thanks,

Brent.

I think you'll have to copy some of the code into your post before anyone will reply. Just grab the last ten lines or so from the modded product_info.php

My experience with this kind of errors is that the error is not in the line mentioned in the message but usually right after the changed or added code.

Most likely suspects are semicolon or closing bracket missing. In mixed php and html files it's also the php opening and closing tags. Even incomplete html tags can create these errors.

So if you want to post some code snippet, it should be the part which you modified, plus some more lines. And don't forget to mention what exactly you changed.

Feedback and suggestions on my shop welcome.

Note: My advice is based on my own experience or on something I read in these forums. No guarantee it'll work for you! Make sure that you always BACKUP the database and the files you are going to change so that you can rollback to a working version if things go wrong.

Yep, you are certainly missing a closing bracket somewhere.
