jennymac Posted May 27, 2006 Posted May 27, 2006 I have LOTS of old backups going back to when I started my store in January. I've searched, but can't seem to find the answer. Is it ok to delete some of the very old ones and, if so, how is it done? Thanks for your help.

Is it ok to delete some of the very old ones and, if so, how is it done? Thanks for your help. You do not need to keep all of them, I ususually keep the last two or three. You can delete them one at a time via the delete button in your admin or if you have a lot of them you could access the folder via your ftp program and delete them all at once. The Knowledge Base is a wonderful thing. Do you have a problem? Have you checked out Common Problems? There are many very useful osC Contributions Are you having trouble with a installed contribution? Have you checked out the support thread found Here BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP!!! You did backup, right??
chooch Posted May 27, 2006 Posted May 27, 2006 Strange, I don't have a deleted button in my admin, nor any of the sites I made for clients. I always had to use my FTP program to delete the old back-ups. Upon receiving fixes and advice, too many people don't bother to post updates informing the forum of how it went. Until of course they need help again on other issues and they come running back! Why receive the information you require in good faith for free, only to then have the attitude to ignore the people who gave it to you? There's no harm in saying, 'Thanks, it worked'. On the contrary, it creates a better atmosphere. CHOOCH
Guest Posted May 27, 2006 Posted May 27, 2006 In my admin it lists both "restore" and "delete" as option buttons for each backup file
jennymac Posted May 27, 2006 Author Posted May 27, 2006 Yep, I have the delete and restore buttons as well. Thanks for all your help...
