Guest Posted May 26, 2006 Posted May 26, 2006 hon, until you do something design wise and such, add products, etc...there's not much for us to comment on. the one product image you have is awful - fuzzy. You don't necessarily have to have a template in order to jazz up the stock site.
chooch Posted May 26, 2006 Posted May 26, 2006 If you use the catalog/stylesheet you can easily add life to the site. You should also remove the languages box if you only have one language. Upon receiving fixes and advice, too many people don't bother to post updates informing the forum of how it went. Until of course they need help again on other issues and they come running back! Why receive the information you require in good faith for free, only to then have the attitude to ignore the people who gave it to you? There's no harm in saying, 'Thanks, it worked'. On the contrary, it creates a better atmosphere. CHOOCH
abra123cadabra Posted May 26, 2006 Posted May 26, 2006 http://id.thecrims.com/cart any one .... pls your feedback about the link ( website link ) about the template ( rite now default cause i cant find the free template ) and the other ? Sorry to sound harsh, but I guess we all remember what the out of the box osCommerce looks like. I can't see any significant changes to the default. the link... no idea what you mean. the template... it's the default one, no changes apart from the awful product image. Please do something about your shop. Add contents, add features, add colour. Once you've done that, the community will be glad to have another look and to help you improve. abra The First Law of E-Commerce: If the user can't find the product, the user can't buy the product. Feedback and suggestions on my shop welcome. Note: My advice is based on my own experience or on something I read in these forums. No guarantee it'll work for you! Make sure that you always BACKUP the database and the files you are going to change so that you can rollback to a working version if things go wrong.
♥14steve14 Posted May 27, 2006 Posted May 27, 2006 Yet another boring straight out of the box oscommerce installation. Put a bit of work into your site as at the moment its not too good. I will look again later, but i dont think you will get any sensible reviews. Dont be put off by what people say, but do spend time making your store your own. Oscommerce can be altered in so many ways. Just take a look at other stores here, and see what can be done. REMEMBER BACKUP, BACKUP AND BACKUP

abra123cadabra Posted May 27, 2006 Posted May 27, 2006 Sorry, got to pass on that one. Seems you are looking for someone to help you with almost everything from setup to design etc. Maybe you should think about paying someone to setup the shop for you if you have absolutely no basic knowledge about webdesign, html, php and mysql. People here are usually very friendly and like to help when they see that you tried to do it and can't get the hang of it but they will most likely not give you a full tutorial on how to set up and tweak your shop from scratch. A good starting point is the documentation that comes with the standard download. For the bit about finding templates: did you try to google for "free template oscommerce"? You see, you got to put some effort into this. I have enough work with my own shop. I like to help when people run into problems I came across before so I'm happy to help you at a later stage of your project. Good luck with your shop! abra The First Law of E-Commerce: If the user can't find the product, the user can't buy the product. Feedback and suggestions on my shop welcome. ♥14steve14 Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 Just out of curiosity have you tried doing a google search for the things that you want. All the information you require is out there, its just a case of looking for it. REMEMBER BACKUP, BACKUP AND BACKUP
