Hi,

I am new to this and i have got quite far with my site so far,

I am coming across a few contribs that need me to run SQL statements but i am not sure how I do this,

If some could please point me in the right direction then I would be most gratefull.

Many thanks

Tim

check the cpanel of your host. Typically they have instructions how to access the database. Lots of hosts use a tool callled phpmyadmin that can access the database separately from osc. That tool has an SQL tab where you need to paste the sql file content and run it. Or you could also load the sql file directly.

Thanks alot, i have already had a go with phpmyadmin, but i just seem to be getting everything wrong.

How can I load the sql file directly?

You'll find it much easier to do via phpMyAdmin than from the MySQL command line.

Have a look at this thread: http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=204955
