How to add multiple products with multiple quantities to the shopping cart from an external form

I am looking to begin using OS Commerce as part of a product that my work puts together. Our software has the ability to send forms from within itself, and we would like users to select a quantity from an input field, and when they submit the total order, OSCommerce to get hit with the data and add it to the cart so the user can check out. The problem I have run into so far, is that it would seem easy to add products only, but with the single variable coming from the form (for example, this would be like having an input field with the name being the product ID and the value being the quantity desired). I need a way of getting the single variable (quantity) of each item to add the desired product in the desired amount to the cart. Any help would be much appreciated.
