akeram Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 :'( Just discovered that Contact Us emails do not reach me even though "Message sent" confirmation appears. I can email customers, get order confirmations and Tell A Friend sucessfully except for Contact Us emails. I have gone through 20 pages of search, but can not find the answer. I even downloaded a Contribution to fancy up the Contact Us as a last resort, if I can not get a answer here. Please help if you can.
toohotglass Posted June 3, 2006 Posted June 3, 2006 I am having the same problem. Hopefully a bump will help solve the problem.
toohotglass Posted June 3, 2006 Posted June 3, 2006 i tried entering another email address into the email address area of configuration, something with a different host, ie @yahoo.com, to @hotmail.com. I got the message. I switched it back to the @yahoo.com email, and it worked too. I dont know if i actually did anything, but maybe the system just needed the email address entered again?? dont know, but try it anyways, cant hurt to try. good luck

I tried setting it to my Hotmail address, but it did not work! I got my ISP working on the problem. Unfortunately none of the email works now that they got involved. We are ready to go live with our store but can't until this is solved. Any other suggestions are welcome. Andy
Epic Mike Posted June 4, 2006 Posted June 4, 2006 When I first set up my shop, I was having the same problems. I found that the contribution from Vger works wonderfully. It is designed to display your store details on the contact us page, but I didn't want those so I just edited them out. you could do the same or if you have a physical store, you could use this to display your information. Either way, it actually works and that's what's important. Here it is: http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contri...ons,3250/page,3 Good Luck! Mike
Epic Mike Posted June 4, 2006 Posted June 4, 2006 One more thing. I keep all the contributions I install on my pc and looking back through them, it seems I used two different ones for the contact us page. Here's the other one: http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contri...ntact+us+choice Sorry about that as I'm not sure which one I ended up using but one of them works...I promise :-" Mike

I down loaded both of them and installed the Fritz Clapp contribution. No luck! Emails still are not going out. I'll bet it has something to do with my hosting provider. Guess I'll have to wait and see if they come up with an answer. Is anybody else using WebHost4Life and running a OSCommerece store on their servers? Andy

I read the above link and tried removing the < > from the email address in "Send extra order emails to". So now the set up is just the plain email addresses separated by commas. Lo and behold, the Admin to customer emails and Tell a Friend email started working. Just the "Contact Us" refuses to work. Thanks Mike, I am better off than I was. Andy
