Database install problem

Hi all,

 

I am trying to install osCommerce on to my server, following the new install documentation step by step. I have created a database with mySQL, but it is empty.

The problem is when I get to step 5 and click "continue" right at the end of the step, I get

 

New Installation

 

osCommerce Configuration

 

A test connection made to the database was NOT successful.

 

The error message returned is:

 

Table 'username.configuration' doesn't exist

 

can anyone help? Do I need something in the database?

Do the install manually. Check the two configure.php files to see if they did get data written to them (doubtful), and if there's no data then enter the data manually. Go to your database via phpMyAdmin, make sure there are no tables in it, and then click on the SQL tab, locate your copy of oscommerce.sql on your computer and click the Go button.
