manufacturers.php & newsletter-box

Hello ... I've 2 wishes:

 

- I want to disable the first to links of the drop-down menu of the manufactors (left column). I checked the manufacturers.php file, but didn't understand what to do.

 

- I've implemented a newsletter-box in the "right column". By clicking the submit button, the confirmation page appears as "_top" page. How can I achieve, that this confirmation page appears in the middle of the osC-page (like all products ...)
