Admin Customer non required field

I have been working my way through making Post code an optional field

 

This is now correct for the Create_Account.php

 

I have applied changes to the checking of the Post code field on the Admin customer.php

 

The screen still displayed * Required against the Post code column even though it is now optional

 

How do I remove the text * Required on the Admin customer screen

If you download the Custom Create Account Page contribution (link below my name) you will see the full list of files which need to be edited.

 

For the particular problem you have that text is located in includes/languages/english.php

I saw your Custom Create Account Page contribution after I had completed my work on removing News letter and Managing POST CODE

 

My requirement is to remove the text * Required against the POST CODE field from the admin customer screen ie POST CODE is optional

 

the english.php fix is not what I require

This is how I did it:

In the file English.php located in the folder \catalog\includes\languages, locate this entry:

define('ENTRY_POST_CODE_TEXT', '*');

 

If you remove the '*' so that it looks like this:

define('ENTRY_POST_CODE_TEXT', '');

 

then the text * Required for the POST CODE field is removed.

 

I do have a question for you, which I am sure you can answer:

How did you make the POST CODE 'optional' and not 'required'?
