Config file problem

Guest

Recommended Posts

Hi,

THis has been annoying me for the past few hours now. Have gone thru the forums but nothings helped..

I get the following error

The configuration files do not exist, or permission levels are not set.

Please perform the following actions:

* cd /home/ex0r3/public_html/catalog/includes/

* touch configure.php

* chmod 706 configure.php

* cd /home/ex0r3/public_html/catalog/admin/includes/

* touch configure.php

* chmod 706 configure.php

Now the config file seems to be correct and its 777 modded. Any ideas?

Are you sure both the configure files have been uplaoded correctly?

The catalog/includes/configure.php should have permissions set to 644 or 444

and catalog/admin/includes/configure.php should have permissions set to 644

There are two configure.php files, as listed in the error notice. They need permissions (during the install) of 755 or 777.

To make sure that the permissions are correctly set to allow the install to write to them, go to your web hosting control panel, locate the File Manager and use that to check the permissions - and change them if necessary.

:D

Thanks to both of you for your help, I got past that stage. I modded the permissions initially and it still didn't work so I uploaded the two config files again and chmodded the files through file manager and that sorted it!
