Guest
Hi, Had a tough go of it getting my host to see the php.ini file, once I did, it was like magic, the install screen came up, but when I try to get past the next step, it gives the following message. Client does not support authentication protocol requested by server; consider upgrading MySQL client. I am using mySql 4.1.19 and the client is 5.0.11 my database is test, user dvd pwd foo just can't figure it out, any help would be appreciated. ♥Vger
It's to do with Register Long Arrays being set to off and you may also need to allow Old Passwords in MySQL. Vger

Michael I do not know where to change register long arrays, and does 2.2 work with 4.1.19 or should I use a older mysql. I am not a guru at this stuff and I am just trying to get the demo store up, and it seems that it's not a simple install. Is there a set of specs that work that I can be refered to? Is there any documentation as to what the "client" is looking for? Thanks, Michael
