Need Some Opinions......

Hi all i need your opinions...

 

 

I have been reading through the forum and also looking through the contributions and stumbled across something called

 

Simple Template System (STS)

 

Has anyone used this contribtuion before, and if yes did it suit your needs.

 

I really dont know php that well (newbie, still learning as i go along) but i know HTML fairly well.

 

right now i am using the template called "Green rounded oscommerce template " from the contribtutions i would like to create something with more graphics but i dont want to pay over $100 dollars like most of the template sites on the internet are charging.

 

If anyone could help me with this little problem that would be great.

There are some issues with STS and coding/editing. Yes you can get a pretty site but some (not all) of the modifications you make for future contributions add-ons will be very difficult.

 

As you said your new to this I won't go in to anything but will give you adivce on one thing, use oscommerce as it is and use the stylesheet to get the colours you want and slowly but surely, take your time and build your store.

 

Failing that, add a template if you have to but don't use STS unless you are sure you won't be adding too many future contributions. You don't need to pay $100 for a template, you can run a search engine query and find them cheaper.

I know i could find them cheaper, what i would really like to to is find a nice FREE one but i always get the same few free ones on every search engine i try..

 

does anyone know of any WYSIWYG php builders or programs that you can use to make a oscommerce template easy.
