online comic store, not yet live

Hi any critique on my store would be welcome, i'm still in the process of adding items and i need to fill in the shipping and returns, privicy and conditions yet.

feel free to test out the store and purchase things (choose cheque as payment method) to test the shopping cart etc., just bare in mind that it's UK only (so at the moment thats the only country selectable).

it's somewhat plain and the categories header is darker than the other headers.

 

The banner could use something more. That is what's making hte site look plain (imo)

The reason that the catagories looks darker is i was seeing how different headers would look, I'm currently changing them all now to the darker looking one.

Hi I am just about ready (I think) to go live, could anyone give any last minute critique please? I really could do with it to ease my mine and sharpen up my site.

nice site overall. The home page where it states the welcome guest line I would move it to the bottom or add a box around it so it will match the rest of the modules/boxes and align the beginning of the main section with the left navigation.

 

The various submit, buy-now buttons perhaps you could use an intense color. The gradient gray one typically indicates something that is disabled.

 

You could also utilize the top blue header line that remains empty throught your store like adding some hot products there or main categories.

Hi thanks you for the imput, do you have any suggestions on what colour to make the buttons? I had made them a blue colour (the same as the headers) however this made them blend in too much with the rest of the site.

 

As for the header line I think I will add some main catagories into there, that seems like a very good idea. Thanks again.

Not bad.

 

The background color (outside site) could be the same dark blue as is on your headers and such. The light blue pales the site.

 

While navigating through your site, I find no link/button to get me back to "Home".

 

Need more contact information on your contact page - where are you? phone number? Bascially - are you a real company? (customer's perspective).

 

Need more product information. Number of pages, any adult themed images not appropriate for certain age groups, things like that.

Most items do have age ratings where appropriate, as well as page counts and author's name. As for the home button, clicking the logo will return you to the home page but I'll add another home button next to "account" and such.

 

I see what you mean about the boarder and I'll get right on that :)

 

The store's address is available in the "conditions of use" section, however I'll also add it to the contact us section as that would make more sense really...
