Help needed with Os Commerce

I am a newbie at most of this, so I hope that anyway who responds to this message understands my question.

 

I set up an account on OsCommerce with my wife's products. I have Authorize.net as our mechant account provider as well as Payapl, money orders, checks, etc as payments.

 

I am trying to figure out how to link my website to OsCommerce so that I can have the customer order directly and make payments.

 

We have a lot of customers who want to pay by credit card, but no way of getting the ball rolling.

 

I don't know if there is a Paypal module that I have to install.

 

I was told I have to install the following module http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,4091 to use or link Authorize.net

 

I don't know where I have to add this module ( Front Page, Authorize.net, OsCommerce) so I can get this started.

 

I have Windows XP and am totally lost on the FTP terminology that I have seen used.

 

If I can get someone to explain to a newbie about how to do this , it would surely be appreciated.

Steve, most payment and shipping modules have instructions for installation IF they require more than just copying the file(s) to the includes/modules/payment or includes/modules/shipping directory. You then need to install these through your admin section and do any configuration there.

 

Some modules require additional tables or changes, and they should provide instructions on how to do these.

 

FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol. An FTP client is an application that you can install on your local machine to transfer files to a web server. Before people may purchase from your site, you will need to purchase a domain name and hosting service with a host provider. To move your files to their server - which is publicly accessible while your home computer is not - you will use your FTP client.
