Guest
I cannot seem to get an answer to this question, does OS (the download) install and run correctly, or does it have to be patched to run. I have had a register_globals question/issue go unresolved because although I keep getting refered to the patches, it involves mods for numerous files, and it just doesn't seem right to me that out of the box it doesn't work. Can someone let me know if it installs and runs without mods. I can't get mine to work, but it will help be determine the next direction to go in. Thanks, Michael

spax
It needs register_globals enabled though. You have 3 ways of doing it or trying to enable them. By the patch (which is what I do), enabling them in the php.ini file or in the .htaccess file.
bellabella
I had the same problem, using "Super Fantastico" auto install... Where's the php.ini file? I can't find it.
crash3903
I had the same problem, using "Super Fantastico" auto install... Where's the php.ini file? I can't find it. you need acces to it on your server and if you are on shared hosting then you won't get access to it however you can put a file called php.ini in your root folder with register_globals = on in it and that will over ride the standard setting - however this open your site up to attack...If you have a clean install of the osc then the patch files can be uploaded with little or no editing of file - this is the better option hth Mark Regards Mark A Reynolds

Thanks, Michael Just to bump this post, I went to this register globals forum post and downloaded the file. It had two good options for repair that werent that difficult to install. I got past that point and it sticks on install page 2. ( one other post on that problem so far) In answer to your overall question, when you get this cart up and running, it is Fantastic! Stick with it, and they almost always come up with an excellent fix for these problems.
