Shared SSL, will it work and Which files need to be under SSL

Hi all,

 

I've gotten the catalog with the PayPal IPN to work smoothly. Thank you all for your posts.

My hosting company has offered my a shared SSL solution for this application and I'm afraid that I'm a bit confused. I need a little clarity on a few subjects, please:

 

1) will this shared SSL work if safe mode is ON on that server?

2) in either case, do I need to load the entire catalog folder under the SSL,

or can I simply direct certain actions to the SSL files - ion other words, can I place certain files under the SSL and leave the catalog where it is?

 

Any help will be appreciated.
