Hello.

I need to make a pop up ad that displays when people go to a certain category of products. From starters I thought this would be a simple task, and I bet it is - if you know how to do it.

I have spend several hours trying to locate resources explaining this, but without luck so far. Ultimately I decided that this would be the place to look. I also searched these forums for similar topics, but couldn't find any.

Also I need the opened window to display in a fixed size(for instance 540x300), and I'd suspect there would be some attribute to disable resizing of windows and lock the window frame, but can't find it :(

The page is ready, I only need to have it pop up when people enter category X.

I hope someone out there will be able to help me out on this one, as I need to get this fixed ASAP.

Thanks.

Best regards,

Having a window automatically open to a specific size when going to a specific page is not difficult to set-up (Just google "popup window scripts" there are many to choose from.

However, there is no way that I am aware of to have an automatic popup window work through popup blockers, which are set in many, if not most, viewers browsers.

So, you may want to rethink this, and use a cliclable popup script, which will not be affected by popup blockers.

But put a warning on if they have popup blockers enabled to disable it for your site only or they won't work

I'm thinking it's a bit unrealistic, to think that a customer is going to change his or her browser settings to accomodate a website, but who knows... maybe. And, maybe I'll win a lottery and not have to think about this ^$#@^$.

G'Luck!

Hello

Thanks for the advice, I'm just new to PHP.

I actually don't need people to see this pop up window, but as part of an agreement I have to make it work for our affiliate.

Also thanks for the advice on button popups, I will look into this immediately and try to script the pop up to open onClick instead of when redirected.

Thanks again.
