Negative Totals

Quick FYI: I'm on oS com 1.1 , and due to circumstances beyond my control I cant run the new 2.2 milstone.

 

My problem is if I issue a coupon code, for example, 100 dollars .. and the product cost 50. It will not allow my customers to check out due to the negative amount. I dont mind if they have a remainder left , thats fine I just want it to zero out the total BEFORE shipping cost so they can check out. It must allow them to be charged for shipping.

 

Anybody know where and how I can edit the php to do something like this -->

 

if total < 0 then total =0.00 + Shipping + Tax
