Product Attributes order

When you are editing Products Attributes in the catalog, is there a way to move the drop down selections so they are in an order you choose (like alphabetical). It seems to just give the attribute the next number available, so when you look at it in the drop down selection box, it is listed at the top, not in the alpha order.

 

Can this be edited? For instance, go to

and look at the drop down box. The new option 'Food: Jelly Beans' should be in the Food: list, which is down on the drop down box, instead it tacked it up at the top.
