Customer Credit

I am still finding my way around osc, but think its brilliant! Now that I can understand a little STS my creations are starting to look much better!

OK, now onto my reason for posting .....

I have a client who is considering getting me to create an OSC store for him - hes a fuel agent, selling fuel oil, coal etc. Anyway, he wants a way for customer to purchase credit, ready for the winter etc - I have suggested the gift voucher system as I have that working on another site soon to be released - but he doesnt like the idea of the customer having to keep track of all the indiviudal voucher numbers (plus I dont think there is a way to include multiple vouchers in a checkout?)

Anyway, we decided that what he needs is a way that a customer can purchase ?x of creit, that gets collated on the store, and when they come to checkout in the future it shows how much credit they have and they have the choice to "spend" it or not. I guess the end result is a custom payment module?

Hope all that makes sense, it does to me, but then again I'm a bit loopy anyway!

Comments/suggestions etc very much welcomed.

Gift Voucher is fine....

You can but 'x' amount of dollars worth of credit and it shows up in your customers account as 'balance' and when that balance is redeemed there is no 'voucher number' to put anywhere

You may be confused by the coupon part of the contribution but you don't have to use that - use the GV

If you had read the CCGV thread and actually the instructions file then you wouldn't have had to post in the forum as you would have got your answer.

Upon receiving fixes and advice, too many people don't bother to post updates informing the forum of how it went. Until of course they need help again on other issues and they come running back!

Why receive the information you require in good faith for free, only to then have the attitude to ignore the people who gave it to you?

There's no harm in saying, 'Thanks, it worked'. On the contrary, it creates a better atmosphere.

Thanks for the reply. I guess the real problem is even simpler, there are so many files attributed to many of the contributions that new users like myself are completely baffled as to which file(s) to actually download! One cannot simply expect the "top" file to be the one required as it often refers to numerous other files producing a ripple effect which is difficult to escape from. Only an observation.

I'll now go and try and work out which file(s) I need from the CCGV contribution and I'll take it from there.

Thanks again.
