Changing INDEX.php

Hi I want to get rid of the NEW PRODUCTS FOR MAY listing in the INDEX.PHP page of my store:

and replace it with the icons that come up here:

 

http://www.theclothesstore.com/oscommerce-...ex.php?cPath=23

 

Any ideas how I do this?

 

I am presuming it requires editing the index.php file????

 

Just not sure which part to edit.

You could just change the query that is used in the new products box catalog/includes/modules/new_products.php so as to only pull products from that category.

 

Alternatively you could install a contribution to show categories on the index page and then only select that category.

 

looks like you have already had a go at the index.php from viewing your link page it shows nnnnnnnnnn which is.

 

ISSUE:

Display shows the 'n' character in index page when categories are selected.

 

You have edited the index.php using the online file manager which has removed the \ backslashes from the code, this is a known issue with using the file manager to edit files, it is better to use an ftp program such as ws_ftp to download the file and edit it locally the ftp back to the server.

 

FIX:

To fix this issue you will need to find the 4 instances of "n"; on your index.php and change them to "\n";
