Feature for shops who sell via Drop Shipping

As many other shop owners, I concentrate on selling via Drop Shipping. That means that I never have the physical possession of the goods that I am selling. If a customer buys a product at my store, I process the order to the supplier/drop shipper. The good thing with Drop Shipping of course is that you don't need your own warehouse.

 

I think, osCommerce doesn't offer yet so many automization tools for shops who sell via Drop Shipping.

 

This should be automated:

 

If a customer buys a product at my store, an email should be processed automatically to the supplier. Ideally the SKU number of the product should be processed. I 've thought that there should be a contribution that allows you to insert a supplier in the admin area, your customer's number with this supplier and so on.

there are already some enterprises out there who offer this service, but you have to pay for it - of course. Since osCommerce is all about the open source idea, it would be great if there would be also this tool available for shop owners without having to pay too much for it.

I 've found these two tools online:

- http://www.stoneedge.com/ . You have to buy the software that costs about 1.000 Dollars.

- http://www.smedia.info/hostingmercantecsoftcart.asp Here you can rent a "drop ship module". The costs are 20 dollars per month, so it's not too much. But of course: Why should we pay for something that probably could be programmed without too many efforts..?

 

Is there somebody out there who knows how to do that? I think that Multi Vendor Shipping is not exactly the thing I am looking for. Besides it looks difficult to get this contribution running with other contributions.

 

I am really curious if you guys have got some ideas, thanks in advance.
