♥peterpil19 Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 Hi, Is there a way to force osC to send out the order confirmation email regardless of whether the customer pays in paypal and then returns to the store? I'm having to manually send them out. --Peter Quote CE PHOENIX SUPPORTER Support the Project, go PRO and get access to certified add ons Full-time I am a C-suite executive of a large retail company in Australia. Jack_mcs Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 The email is sent out when the order is comleted, regardless of the payment method. It shounds like you are using the stock paypal module so the code never knows the order was completed (if they don't return to the shop). The fix is to install the paypal ipn contribution. ♥peterpil19 Posted May 2, 2006 Author Posted May 2, 2006 Thanks for your reply Jack. Unfortunately, I am using the IPN payment module. I can reinstall it I suppose. If anyone has time to answer: which paypal ipn contribution should I install, there seems to be more than one... --Peter Quote CE PHOENIX SUPPORTER Support the Project, go PRO and get access to certified add ons Full-time I am a C-suite executive of a large retail company in Australia. Jack_mcs Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 I use the oscommerce_paypal_ipn V 1.1 one and haven't had that problem, for what that's worth. ♥peterpil19 Posted May 3, 2006 Author Posted May 3, 2006 Strange, Just did a fresh install on a different server and tried oscommerce_paypal_ipn v 1.1, and the test customer still doesn't get a confirmation of order email if they drop out of paypal without paying. I'm going to try the other paypal contribution (Paypal_Shopping_Cart_IPN) and see what happens... --Peter Quote CE PHOENIX SUPPORTER Support the Project, go PRO and get access to certified add ons Full-time I am a C-suite executive of a large retail company in Australia. ♥peterpil19 Posted May 3, 2006 Author Posted May 3, 2006 I just tried Paypal_Shopping_Cart_IPN on a fresh install, and the order email is not being sent out. If anyone knows how to fix this (other than manually emailing invoices to non-paying buyers), please let me know. Jack_mcs Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 It doesn't sound like it is the paypal module. Try it with Check/Money Order. Does it work then? If not, you should download the email test script and run it to see where the problem is. ♥peterpil19 Posted May 4, 2006 Author Posted May 4, 2006 Thanks again Jack for taking the time to post, I appreciate. The other modules are fine,. A fellow forum member let me know that I'll have to make some changes in the IPN.php file. If I figure it out, I'll post it somewhere.
