shaggnasty Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 Okay everybody talks about it and tells me to go there to play with the color but nobody tells me where it is. I honestly tried to do a search to find out this info, but the search engine won't let me past the first of like 178 pages. I have been trying to find it on my own, but it seems to be playing hide and seek. Please Help! Thanks! - Robar
shaggnasty Posted May 2, 2006 Author Posted May 2, 2006 where is the root folder? I have never heard of it.
bobsi18 Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 where is the root folder? I have never heard of it. the root folder is the first main folder of your setup, probably named 'catalog'. In this folder you should have a fair few files (I've got over 70) and a couple of folders. One of the files should be called stylesheet.css, if you open it with an editor, you will be able to modify the contents to change the colour of your page.
shaggnasty Posted May 2, 2006 Author Posted May 2, 2006 Thanks I actualy found it in a folder labeled "www" of all places. I have carefully been mokeying with it and noticed that indeed you can change the colors. Thanks for the the help. Sometimes when you are brand new to this stuff it can be a bit overwhelming. - Robar
Stickle Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 Yes, the "www" folder is the root of your website.... It is where all the action begins (so to speak) hence the name root. On some hosts the root folder can also be known as the following:- /html/ /www/ /httpdocs/
