How do you increase your oscommerce website traffics or hits?

What is the best contribution module you use for traffic management?

Posted

Same as for any website. There are plenty of seo & traffic forums out there to have a look at.

What would a "traffic management" contribution do?

generate humongous amounts of page views through link-building...

You have to be careful that the sites that you link with are good quality sites. If you link with a bad "link farm" it can do a lot of damage to your site. Work on one way links first such as related forums, directories. You can also submit articles to article sites and your RSS feeds for your products and site blog to RSS sites. All will generate one way links back to your site. Some banner advertising also generates links back as well. Make sure you submit to DMOZ and if you have $$ then Yahoo / MSN business directory etc.

A well optimised site for SEO and a good / steady / quality link building stategy will help you get to where you want to be.

Traffic analysis? I need to provide a competative product price base on the country listing.

example:

-Where are the most traffics come from on your website? eg. US, UK, Asian base on the country region.

-Which country is buying the most Best seller products?

-What products the country have interest on your website?

Does anybody using Web Page Rotator for traffic exchange (advertisement management) ?

Recently I have joined the Free Traffic Exchange to bring in at least 2,500 hits in a week to my website like TS25, Traffic Pods, Traffic Swarm. I advertised a new product release weblink to traffic exchange. The problem is I need to change the advetisement after advertise the product for a period of time. I have to revisit each of the traffic exchanges to change the weblink.

I am looking for a Web Page Rotator that I can configure to add a single weblink to different exchanges and I only need to change the advertisement or webpage in OSC Contribute module.

Example:- http://www.mywebsite.com/rotator.php?id=1 (where 'id' is different advertisement weblink on each traffic exchanges ) will be added to traffic exchange 1, id=2 to traffic exchange 2 and so on. Each 'id' can configure or add with multiple advertisement or weblink with the expires day.

Ok, unless I'm missing something, these free traffic exchanges are a way to get a lot of low-quality traffic from people who are not even remotely interested in your product. They click on one page and then move on to the next site in hopes that you will then come and click on their page. So who makes money here? Other than the traffic exchange site that can sell banner advertising because it's showing 1,000,000 hits per month.

Does anyone tried free traffic exchanges before? Does it work?

What type of services and products do you sell in the traffic exchange that do work for you?

i've tried just about every free exchange you can think of. they don't work and that's including traffic swarm. you'll be lucky if you get 1 valuable click from a million impressions

a lot of these free banner exchanges spam the heck out of your email with their stupid newsletters, the only way to unsubscribe is to filter their messages or remove your account with them.

i've also found reciprocal link exchanges are useless too. all you'll pretty much get is pharmacy sites wanting to link to you.. not worth the energy!

even if you contact other webmasters for a reciprocal link exchange, i've found about 1 third even respond and say "yeah, let's do it" then you check their site two weeks later and find they've removed your link. these types of people are easily spottable because they post somewhere in the link section they require you have a certain page rank before they'll even consider. they want you to link to them, but they don't want to link to you and bleed some of their PR.. heaven forbid!

thanks google. you guys screwed up the internet by announcing what pagerank was.

the internet was much better way back when you were able to find the best sites by following link exchanges.. but you can't do that anymore because no one wants to link to anyone anymore!

I generated quite a bit of traffic with my 'Monthly Give-Away', a sweepstake site found me and listed the give-away.

Result after 4 months: quite a few sales, -cold be more, tho-, quite a few new accounts with no sales yet, a whole bunch of emails with comments about my stuff what tells me people actually do look at the site.

That was the best thing ever happened to the website quality traffic wise.

good quality affiliates if your profit margin can stand it. Go with a good network, most good affs wont use an osc aff account, look at a4uforum.co.uk in the uk

Its not about traffic its about making a connection with the community served by your website. If it were just about traffic, then just put up some pornographic pics and watch the traffic skyrocket. What you really need is a connection with your market. I agree with the adice issued- affiliates with other websites and sponsor links. Trade links etc. Forget about google adwords. The best advertising is free and is by word of mouth.

Price Comparison can be good but sometime expensive.

Try this www.octoprice.co.uk , they are offering free listing and indexing for products. I think is worth a try

It's really hard to find decent link exchanges for adult products. Most of them are really gross. I'm knocking my head against the wall trying to find decent ones. I've got like 6. Only 194 left to go.....AAAACK!

I keep telling myself, keep on keeping on.....
