Installation of shopping cart

I have now completed a new install twice on this shopping cart. On the first install could not open either the catalog or admin panel, had fatal errors. I now can open the Catalog but when I try to open the Admin panel have the following error.

 

Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required 'includes/application_top.php' (include_path='.:/usr/local/lib/php') in /homepages/0/d92398992/htdocs/sprinkler/osCommerce/catalog/admin/index.php on line 13

 

I have been several days trying to just get the demo program to work. This started out as another post under General Questions as where is the Admin panel located, and has grown into an Installation problem. I am starting to think that I may have some corrupted file after the FTP.

 

Would someone please figure this out? This cart couldn't be this hard!

Check your .../catalog/admin/configure.php and verify that your admin directory path is set properly.

I assume you mean 'configuration.php' file, what do you mean the admin directory path set properly?

 

I have www.AccuRain --- /osCommerce/catalog/admin/configuration.php

 

I have folders set at 755 and files set at 644

 

Is this what you mean?

I started this post back in April. I am no futher along with this shopping cart than when I started. Would someone please give me some help.
