Cheers, Jon.

jonhollis Posted May 2, 2006 Author Posted May 2, 2006 so you bought a very very nice template which barely works. The template was designed by my partner, although I don't see anything wrong with buying a nice design . As templates are images they don't magically write their own PHP/XHTML/CSS, that's my job, which I'm still doing - hence the fact that I described the site it as 'unfinished', you moronic fool!!
chooch Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 Nice site, looks slightly template based but very professional. I think irregular lengths in column heights because of infobox variations make it look out of sync - other than that well done Upon receiving fixes and advice, too many people don't bother to post updates informing the forum of how it went. Until of course they need help again on other issues and they come running back! Why receive the information you require in good faith for free, only to then have the attitude to ignore the people who gave it to you? There's no harm in saying, 'Thanks, it worked'. On the contrary, it creates a better atmosphere. CHOOCH
spax Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 Very nice template and table free......nice one! Obviously you need to sort out the width issue you have but other than that, I like it. If I was going to be really picky, I'm not too keen on the rollovers on the nav bar. If I was doing that, I'd have made them top to bottom and inside of the seperators. Or make them appear raised, like a browser toolbar. I was going to build a totally CSS site, after the one I'm currently working on (used 5 designs already and still can't settle on one) but I think MS3 is going that way so I may wait and see.

I love templates and have no prejudice against their usage other than when you ask us to review it if it is the only thing you did. You could at least have the decency of waiting till your site functions properly. Treasurer MFC

jonhollis Posted May 3, 2006 Author Posted May 3, 2006 Amanda, posting comments and making assumptions like this - so you bought a very very nice template which barely works. after somebody (and their associate) had slaved over the design for weeks, you're probably, on average, gonna upset them. You could at least have the decency of waiting till your site functions properly.. You're totally missing my point here, dude!! I posted a link to the unfinished site, which I clearly pointed out was unfinished, to see what people thought so that I can take on board any comments and maybe act on them before the site launches. There's nothing worse than launching a site after convincing the client of it's virtue and then finding out that nobody else likes the logo or that nobody can see the roll-overs etc etc. I think it's a good plan and I shall post a link to it on a few other sites and get as much feedback as possible. Hopefully, I shall then meet other hormonal mentalists, such as yourself, with which to brighten my somewhat dull day. :)

Obviously you yourself don't have emotional reactions to forum posts and I thank you in advance for not reporting my above comments to the forum moderator.
boxtel Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 Obviously you yourself don't have emotional reactions to forum posts and I thank you in advance for not reporting my above comments to the forum moderator. My opinion of the forum moderators are well known and documented so there is little chance of me communicating with them for any reason. And next to that, I value anybodies opinion, yours included.
