How to customize email subject?

Hi all,

Is there a way to configure the subject of the e-mail that is sent upon purchase?

I would like to add the Order # and the name of the product.

The email is created in checkout_process.php. You can edit it there to be what you want. For example, the order number is inserted into the body of the message with this code

EMAIL_TEXT_ORDER_NUMBER . ' ' . $insert_id . "\n" .

Hi.

Not work for me.

I added a line after the EMAIL_TEXT_ORDER_NUMBER line with $subject = EMAIL_TEXT_SUBJECT . ' ' .$insert_id;

Then, in the tep_mail call, I replaced EMAIL_TEXT_SUBJECT with $subject.

Anyhelp?

By the way, I need to get both phone number and email address in the body of the email just below the address. I suppose I need to edit the checkout_process.php file. Can I add something like this, or is it wrong?

Hi,

I have modified the checkout_process.php file to add some more fields to the extra e-mail that is sent upon purchase. Unfortunately, the page has an erratic behavior. Sometimes I receive the e-mail, sometimes I don't, and sometimes the e-mail is a bit weird (missing fields inside it). :blink:

If some code guru could give me a hand I would be very grateful. :blush:

Hi,

Finally I've removed this portion of the code:

EMAIL_TEXT_SUBJECT . ' #' . $insert_id

and replaced it with:

EMAIL_TEXT_SUBJECT

which is part of the original osCommerce code. Everything's fine now, but it looks like it's not possible to get the order ID within the e-mail subject.
