can order numbers be changed?

Hi all, just did a search and cant find an answer to my question,

 

I would like to know if there is a way to change order numbers, each order goes up 1 x 1 is there a way to change this,

 

I had a customer order one day order 465 and came back and reordered more the next day and her order number was 468 so she could see i hadnt had many sales in the 24 hour period, it would be good if possible for me to add a few extra sales at the end of each day incase this happens again. .
