301 redirect with https

I have tried using several different ways to 301 redirect and am having a lot of trouble.

 

I want to redirect all of my http://domain.com to http://www.domain.com the problem has something to do with my ssl or the way that https is handled. when i redirect like this my https pages stop working

 

ie if you try to enter a new customer, every time you submit the form it just pops back to an unfilled form

 

is there a way to avoid this?
