I am new to oscommerce and new to site building.

I need to know how to change the colors of my store its

Also how would I add my store name?

Please help.

I haven't started building yet because I would like to know how to change the look first.

Hi Juanita,

 

Changing colours is governed by a sylesheet (stylesheet.css). Store name is set in administration. As for displaying it, most people like displaying their banner in the header area (by replacing the default image in header.php with their own image).

 

The best way to learn, is to install oscommerce and start playing with it.

Peter is right it is good to play around with it to learn. However before you play make a backup copy of your site in case you muck things up.

 

Backup your database via the admin control panel and then backup up your files via ftp to your computer.

 

I backup before each mod I make and keep them in folders with the date and what what done in the folder name. That way I can revert to previous versions of my site if problems arise.
