Product Listing in Columns Mod and changing the product order

Hi,

 

I have the "Product Listing in Columns" http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contri...sting+in+column mod installed and I am very pleased with the way that it let me change my products listing layout.

 

However, now my boss wants me to change the order that our products appear on the category listing page.

 

I tried installing the "Product Sort" http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contri...products+sorter mod and could not get it to work no matter what I did. And believe me I tried every version and all of the database changes. Absolutely nothing!

 

I then tried the "Custom sort order field for products in admin/categories.php" http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contri...ry/search,72023 mod which only allows me to change the sort order ONLY in admin. Could be helpful, but still not what I am looking for right now.

 

I am looking for something that allows me to change the sort order (that the customer sees) on the categories product listing page after the products have been entered...keeping in mind that I have the "Product Listing in Columns" contribution installed. Can anyone give me a hint, or do I have to plan ahead and know in which order I need to enter all of our products before I enter them?
