Marla Hi Marla, I really like your store! I am trying to set up my own online store which will include hand knitting, which I do myself. I can't imagine knitting with a frame, but your garments look great! Shirley
msrichard Posted April 29, 2006 Author Posted April 29, 2006 Thanks Shirley! Any others have feedback? Marla
ddp Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 Thanks Shirley! Any others have feedback? Marla Your store definatly has the look of an oscommerce store. You might want to add an adress and phone number on you contact us page. I also prefer an email link as opposed to filling out a form and forcing the user to write out their email address. It would be nice if you knitting "how to" pages were not made with anchors I found it a bit tiresome to have to scroll back up after hitting a link. Backup before making changes. Backup before making changes! Backup before making changes!! You did do a backup? eh?

Through out my pages I have numerous links for contacting us. Originally these were email links. After reading through the forums, I changed them to use contact_us.php. If I remember correctly, the person was stating that email links would be setting yourself up for receivng alot of unrelated mail. Is this incorrect? I will be modifying the "how to" pages to allow for easily returning to the top. Marla

msrichard Posted May 1, 2006 Author Posted May 1, 2006 Cool site, I really like the rotating pictures on the home page. How did you do that? :) I would love to do the same thing on my site. Jason Jason, I got some script code from dynamicdrive.com and placed it within the text of my define for the main page in index.php. Be sure to use the \ in front of any single quote in the script.
oscomJim Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 I really liked your website. You seem to be able to do many of the things that I would like (except I'm in sculpture). I just can't imagine that you don't have a backgroung in php. I am struggleing and get frustrated at least four times a day. Any suggestions? James [email protected]

I just can't imagine that you don't have a backgroung in php. I am struggleing and get frustrated at least four times a day. Any suggestions?James [email protected] Thanks James! I know it can be frustrating. I spent A LOT of time searching through the forums before I would make my changes. I came to realize that there where usually several to many different answers to some questions I had and not all of them correct and some hard to find. I would often download contributions to better study them and then decide if I would use them. Sometimes I would use just parts of them. Basicly, I spent most of my time in research. There's still changes to my site I want to make that I have put off until I can figure out the best way to do them. So, just keep plugging away and search the forums. Marla
