Error: Catalog images directory is not writeable: /home/mycompanyname/public_html/catalog/images/

Hello everyone.

 

I am new to this site. backend of Oscommerce is not allowing me to add pictures

to product description (when adding a new product). Was able to before, none of the

settings have been ultered.

 

When trying to add a new product with picture(product title, desc., price, weight, taxes all get added howeve the image does not. [file not writeable]). I get this error message.

 

"Error: Catalog images directory is not writeable: /home/companyname/public_html/catalog/images/"

 

How do you make that region writeable????

(even when adding absolute address and manually uploading desired picture does not display. We're getting the same error message).

 

FTP access is not a problem.

 

PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN. PLEASE.

Using either your ftp program or the file manager in your hosting control panel add write permissions to the images folder

You need to make sure the permissions in your file manager are set to 777. This is called the CHMOD.
