Color and Size Contribution

Hello all, we have a clothing site.....and we sell bulk lots....within those lots we allow buyers to mix colors and sizes.....but at the moment i can't get the site to work that way. If you purchase one of our lots for 36 aprons....i want buyer to be able to select colors from a grid....while the quantity for the bulk lot remains 1 item...can it be done? I keep thinking if a buyers selects 12 red, 12 white and 12 green...the site will think he purchased 36 lots and multiply that times the bulk total. Thanks for any help ...Jeff
