swtnhpy Posted April 25, 2006 Posted April 25, 2006 I have been trying to figure this out for months now and can't seem to find the problem. I am in the state of WV, I only need to charge tax for that state. In my admin, under Location/Taxes I have as follows: Countries I have only the US Zones I have all the states in the US listed Tax Zones I have a folder that says United States (lower 48) and if I click on the folder, all the states come up and then I have one that says WV Tax Classes I have Taxable Goods Tax Rates I have 7% on Taxable goods This is my problem, when creating an account and you get to where you put in your state....it goes to a different page that keeps putting the state as Alabama. I can't understand why it is doing this. Any ideas?

mtechama Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 ok in your Admin>Location/Taxes Countries needs to be United States (ISO code is USA) and Tax Zone is should be name of your state full name not abrv. like mine is Texas not TX. then got to your Tax Rate then Taxable Goods then enter the percentage of your Tax rate for that state Wade Morris Amarillo, Texas Before you do any changes on your site you need to do BACKUP! BACKUP!
swtnhpy Posted April 30, 2006 Author Posted April 30, 2006 Ok...I have everything just as you said but in the zones one I have all the states in the US listed as it came with standard. I think I have everything right but when I do a test account, I put in the state as normal but something happens between hitting continue to set up the account and when it saves it in the admin side. When looking up the account, it saves the state as alabama and it won't let me change it.
