Uploading images from the Admin Panel

I'm trying to do a simple thing in OSC but it's now turining out to be impossiable. I just want to upload product images via the Admin Panel to a sub directory under "catalog/image" and there is no way to do this from the ADMIN Panel and the OSC 2.2 document doesn't help.

1. In the OSC2.2 docs it says to create sub-dirs and set permissions to 777. OK, I've done that

2. Upload the images to the appriate folder. OK, I've done that, too.

3. In step 3 the docs. say to change the backward slash to a forward slash (/). Look at how the docs are

written:

STEP 3 - When images are added via the item discription page (in admin panel), select the location via the browse button. Right before the image name - change the backward slash to a forward slash (/)

The change will look like this:

C:oscommercecatalogimagesdvd/movie.jpg and in the catalog you will see: dvd/movie.jpg and the picture if you were successful.

Well the images keep uploading to the catalog/image directory not the sub-dir I've setup with permit to 777 and images already uploaded.

Is there a way to just select the upload location in OSC?

Welcome, if that doesn't do it the way you want there are several WYSIWYG editers that allow you to have images in folders but they will be more work to add. Only plus side is you can use the editer to make your desciptions a bit fancier a little easier.
